After a month of speculation about whether or not Iowa running back Jordan Canzeri would play in the Rose Bowl against Stanford, we hear this:

The Troy High grad appears set and ready to shoulder the load in his final collegiate game for the Hawkeyes.

Canzeri has rushed for 976 yards this season (5.5 YPC). He missed practically three full games with injury, including nearly all of the Big 10 Championship Game against Michigan State when he hurt his ankle.

If he were healthy, I would argue it would be Iowa playing for the national championship as part of the College Football Playoff.

Canzeri joined me back in October and said that he does have NFL aspirations. He's a battering ram-style back, weighing 192 pounds at 5'9. He also has good speed in the open field and he has several long runs this year, including a 75-yarder. He has 12 TDs this season.

Iowa plays Stanford on New Years Day.
