This week on 104.5 the Team we are starting up the #CapitalRegionGreatestSportsMomentBracket as we are trying to crown the best sports moment in the history of the Capital Region as decided by you! Today's matchup consists of two recent championships.

(3) Union Men's Hockey Wins NCAA hockey title vs. No.1 Minnesota

In 2014, the Union Men's Hockey team found themselves in the Frozen Four but they were not done there! After defeating Boston College, the Dutchmen trailed the Golden Gophers 2-1 in the first period but scored 3 goals in a 1:54 span and never looked back. Union went 16-0-1 in their last 17 games to capture their first NCAA hockey title. Relive it below!

(6) Albany Empire win 2019 Arena Bowl

In their second season in franchise history (and unfortunately their last it appears) the Empire went 10-2 to earn the top seed in the Arena Football League. After embarrassing Baltimore with an aggregate score of 123-47 in the semifinals, the Empire went toe-to-toe with the Philadelphia Soul. That is until late in the 2nd quarter when Quentin Sims scored back to back touchdowns and from there the Empire rolled to a 45-27 victory and the Arena Bowl championship.
