Thankfully, the seemingly endless trade rumors surrounding Carmelo Anthony have finally come to an end.  What does this move mean for the Knicks? The Knicks are on the right track.  They still have work to do in terms of upgrading their supporting cast to complement Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony.

This move doesn't put the Knicks over the championship hump.  It does, however,  put them in a very good position to attract another elite player, possibly Deron Williams or Chris Paul.

The Knicks will have to upgrade their supporting cast as well.  The Knicks traded Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, and Timofey Mozgov to Denver for Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony.

The Knicks also got Anthony Carter, Renaldo Balkman, and Corey Brewer in the deal.  Long story short, the Knicks got a top-10 player in Carmelo Anthony.  They'll have an easier time replacing the talent they traded away to acquire Carmelo, than they would've had trying to find another top-10 player like Anthony.
