This week, UAlbany head football coach Greg Gattuso joined Big Board Sports live to discuss week 1 of the college football season and preview the season for UAlbany Football.
The University of Albany Great Danes football program is preparing for their 7th season in the Colonial Athletic Association. The CAA is a true power in FCS college football and the Great Danes are looking to prove they are a force to be reckoned with. Head Coach Greg Gattuso has a talented group of players that are visibly larger than any group I personally have seen at UAlbany. We spent the morning at practice and interviewed Gattuso and some of offensive weapons.
The UAlbany Lacrosse team has been growing and growing, both in success and attendance. Head Coach Scott Marr will get the chance to welcome back many of his former players this weekend when UAlbany hosts the Premiere Lacrosse League.
The UAlbany Football Great Danes had a rough year last year. Injuries ravaged the UAlbany roster last season and a year that began with high hopes had it's share of issues. After a strong recruiting class and a tough schedule UAlbany won't have an easy path but they will have opportunity.
The University of Albany Great Danes football team just did one of my favorite things in college sports. When the decision of which players receive scholarships and which ones do not are made you know some players sadly miss the cut. One of my favorite things is when players find out in creative and fun ways they have made the cut and will get their scholarship. UAlbany found a fun way to reward four players and shared the video for us all to enjoy.
The University of Albany Great Danes Baseball team is currently waiting to see who they'll play in the America East Tournament but they've won a major honor. Head Coach Jon "Bam Bam" Mueller is the unanimous winner of the America East Coach of the Year. As someone who has had the pleasure of talking baseball with and getting to know Coach Mueller I can't think of a better person to win this honor. As you would expect Bam Bam even handles winning with humility and gratitude.
