It's not totally clear to me what the New York Yankees plans for outfielder Clint Frazier are. Frazier was brought over from the Cleveland Indians in July of 2016. Frazier was a highly touted prospect that many felt would make an impact on the big league roster sooner than later. However he's spent far more time in the minors and thanks to a nagging concussion issue last season his future with the Yankees had been unclear. Today the Yankees optioned Frazier back down to their Triple A affiliate.

With Yankees' starting Center Fielder Aaron Hicks rehabbing a back injury I thought maybe Frazier would get a chance to stick around. One potential reason Frazier is headed back to Triple A is not being athletic enough. No really, I mean it. In an interview with the Capital Region's own DJ Eberle, Frazier said:

“It’s kind of been the theme of spring training, both hitting and defensively, they keep using the terms, ‘Use your athleticism, I guess they feel like at times I might not be as athletic as I can be with some positions I put myself in.”

Hard to believe "Red Thunder" isn't athletic enough. Read the full article and see what else Clint Frazier had to say HERE.
