Major League Baseball can be a cruel business. Sometimes the timing seems awful. A former budding star for the New York Yankees found that out again on Friday at the Stadium.
Issues with vision have been an issue for New York Yankees' outfielder, Clint Frazier. Comments from Aaron Boone have made that situation even less clear.
New York Yankees' outfielder Aaron Judge is not in the starting lineup for his second straight game since manager Aaron Boone told the press he was suffering from "Lower body soreness". Considering that Judge has a history of spending prolonged periods of time on the Injured List, this is not the news Yankees fans were hoping to hear right now. Not only was Judge starting to swing the bat better but it looks like the Yankees themselves could possibly be turning the corner. The Bronx Bombers have won five of their last seven games and with a win today would win their second straight four-game series.
Ever since the New York Yankees traded for Clint Frazier in 2016 fans have been waiting for the young outfielder to make his way to an everyday role in the majors. Frazier has speed both with his legs and his bat and is flashy. The problem has always been that there's an overabundance of talent in the outfield for the Bronx Bombers and when given opportunities Frazier hasn't played up to the high level that's expected consistently. Well outfielder/DH Giancarlo Stanton is headed to the Injured List after straining his hamstring and Clint Frazier is going to get another chance. Will he make it so the Yankees are forced to keep him with the big league club this time?
It's not totally clear to me what the New York Yankees plans for outfielder Clint Frazier are. Frazier was brought over from the Cleveland Indians in July of 2016. Frazier was a highly touted prospect that many felt would make an impact on the big league roster sooner than later. However he's spent far more time in the minors and thanks to a nagging concussion issue last season his future with the Yankees had been unclear. Today the Yankees optioned Frazier back down to their Triple A affiliate.
The Yankees position player roster is most likely set heading into this season so I decided to make a generic lineup that would be ideal if we were looking at offense ability only.
This is a blog where you'll know if people stopped at reading the headline by their comments. I don't want to trade Clint Frazier because he doesn't belong with the Yankees in the Bronx. I want to trade Clint Frazier because he BELONGS in the Majors and I don't see how he gets that chance in the Bronx.
The second half of the MLB season is about to get under way. Even though the New York Yankees currently hold the Wild Card and are a long series with the Boston Red Sox out of first place in the American League East, they seem to have more questions than answers...
Each Monday at 4pm Levack and I recap the weekend in a segment called "Monday Mirages". Does it having lasting power, or is it just a one week mirage? This week it was a special edition as producer Matt Woods filled in for Levack. In similar fashion to last week, the losses continue to pile up for the Yankees...
Okay so here's the story, while on a NYC sports talk show voice of the Yankees Suzyn Waldman told a story about Yankees prospect Clint Frazier asking for Mickey Mantle's number 7. Basically the young fun loving Out Fielder said something to the effect of "Do the Yankees ever UN-retire number...
