Ohio State point guard  D'Angelo Russell, has been drafted  by the Los Angeles Lakers. Russell, will look to take over the helm after 5x Champion Kobe Bryant retires.

Russell is seen as the best guard out of the draft, and has tremendous upside. He is a guard that can play both the 1 one, and the two position. He's an excellent decision maker and appears to have the ability to develop into a point guard for the next level. His drive and dish already is an effective element to his game. His 6-foot-9 wingspan gives him the ability to disrupt passing lanes and shots, as well as giving him extra length to get to loose balls and get shots off.

Russell is a player that didn't come out of high school as a top 10 prospect, but thrived in college, and had an outstanding freshman season averaging 19 ppg, 5 apg, and 5 rpg. This led to Russell finishing 5th in the voting for the John R. Wooden Award.
