Dressing Up For Work
Have you ever worn something to work that's not your usual office attire and then gotten made fun of?
Well, it happened to me today. Several times.
Normally, I wear a sweater and jeans or even dress pants to the office. But today, I decided to wear a suit and tie - figuring that dressing up nicely for a change would do some good for my morale.
It's never a bad thing to get dressed up for work when you don't have to, right? Well, not really.
It literally took 2 minutes for someone to ask me, "Why are you all dressed up today, got a job interview?" Another typical response was, "Sinkoff, you're not on tv anymore, so take off that tie."
Then, I wanted to do a test. So I started to walk around the office to see how long it would take people to notice my more formal attire.
I went and made copies, I mingled with the internet guy, I even hung around with some of the sales staff up at the front. Every single one of them asked when my job interview was.
It got to the point where I was actually telling people I had a job interview before they even asked a question.
So, "No" - I don't have a job interview today. And "Yes", this will be the last time I ever wear a suit to work. Unless, of course, I ever have a job interview!
