Former Union hockey star Shayne Gostisbehere saw his historic streak end on Tuesday night as the Philadelphia Flyers lost to the Carolina Hurricanes, 3-1.

The defenseman's run of a point in 15 straight games is the longest run of that sort for a D-man since Chris Chelios in 1995-96.

"It was a fun thing," Gostisbehere said after the streak came to an end in a 3-1 loss in Carolina (Taken from CSNPhilly.com). "I'm personally happy it's over and we don't have to talk about it anymore and I just want to thank all my teammates for all the support."

The rookie out of Union has 34 points this season: 12 goals and 22 assists. He recorded his first point against Carolina in November, so it's ironic that the streak ends against those same Hurricanes. He also scored his first game-winning goal in overtime against the Hurricanes just nine days later (Nov. 23).

The Flyers have 63 points this season and are in seventh place in the Metropolitan Division.
