The 2024 NHL trade deadline is Friday and you are already seeing players get signed.  The New York Rangers have been one of the best teams in the entire league this season as they currently have over 80 points overall.  Their star winger Artemi Panarin has been tremendous and goaltender Igor Shesterkin has found his old form and has really stepped up for the blue shirts lately.  Now the question becomes how active will the Rangers be at the trade deadline?  I think if you are Chris Drury and the entire front office you have to be aggressive.  The Rangers made a surprising deep playoff run in 2022 all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals thanks in large part to the moves they made at the deadline.

Jake Guentzel from the Pittsburgh Penguins is a name that keeps popping up and he would be a huge piece.  The Eastern Conference is tough this year with the likes of the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers.  The Rangers have to be aggressive if they want to make a deep run this year.  First year head coach Peter Laviolette has done an excellent job so far and has really utilized the depth and talent on each of his lines.

Only time will tell what the Rangers decide to do as it feels like they will make some moves and be aggressive as one of the best teams in the league this year.  I do believe that the Rangers will make a splash and are poised for another deep playoff run this season in 2024 and may even get to the Stanley Cup Finals.
