Gary Sanchez Is The Backup Catcher For The Yankees – Buster Olney [LISTEN]
In ESPN MLB Insider Buster Olney's weekly call with Levack and Bahl he made it very clear that New York Yankees' Gary Sanchez is not only catching on thin ice, but that ice may also have already broken. Buster also shared his thoughts on if the Yankees have turned the corner, Is Francisco Lindor in real trouble with the Mets, and were the Angels wrong to DFA Albert Pujols.
With the way Yankees catcher, Kyle Higashioka is not only calling and catching games but has also outperformed Sanchez in the batter's box, Sanchez may be catching tonight but not much after that. Buster even thinks the Yankees could end up trading to strengthen their catching options as the season goes on and maybe add a lefty bat. listen to Buster Olney's full appearance with Levack and Bahl on 1045 The Team ESPN Radio below.
I do love the idea of "Higashioka THE HOMERUN STROKER" being in more games and clearly so do most of the Yankees pitchers.
Buster used his contacts to get insight on the Yankees pitching and if Gerrit Cole and the rest of the rotation having the lowest ERA in the MLB is something that's here to stay. As well as asking Alex Rodriguez what's really going on with New York Mets superstar Francisco Lindor's swing? All those answers and more are in the interview above.
