Giants Beat Reporter Pat Leonard Joins Big Board Sports
Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. met with the media on day 1 of mandatory mini camp and for the first time since speculation ran wild that he skipped voluntary OTAs over possibly being unhappy with his current contract.
I've said from the start of all this, I have no problem with Beckham, Jr. missing OTAs and when it matters the most, here he is, present and accounted for at the Giants facility in East Rutherford, NJ. In all reality, you could easily argue this isn't even when it matters most. We're still more than a month away from training camp and OBJ says a holdout wasn't never on his mind. Does he want more money? Without hearing him saying and knowing for sure, of course he wants more money. We all do. Will he play under his current contract which will pay him $1.8 million this coming season? It appears that way. Either that or one of the best wide receivers in the game is showing some good faith here hoping the Giants will do the same.
