After a non-contact injury in the 4th quarter of Sunday's 24-3 victory over the Washington Redskins, An MRI on Monday confirmed that rookie starting linebacker Ryan Connelly has a torn ACL and is done for the remainder of the season.

Connelly, 23, was a fifth round pick for the Giants in 2019 out of Wisconsin and worked his way into the starting middle linebacker position in recent weeks. Connelly had an interception each of the last two weeks, both resulted in Giants victories, and will finish the season with 20 tackles.

The Giants are thin a the linebacker position but will look to get Alec Olgetree and Tae Davis back this week against Minnesota. The Giants (2-2) will take on the Minnesota Vikings at 1pm on Sunday at Metlife stadium.
