Glens Falls’ Girard III Appears On This National List
Glens Falls' Joseph Girard III was mentioned in a recent national ranking post from Max Preps. Max Preps shared the "Top 50 Football/Basketball athletes high school" of all time. Girard checked in it at #43 on the list. Max Preps wrote the following about JG3
Football: Threw for 3,162 yards and 37 touchdowns as a senior and finished with 6,715 yards in his career. Helped lead Glens Falls to a state championship as a sophomore.
Basketball: The all-time leading career scorer in New York history with 4,763 points and a state championship as a senior. Averaged 50 points per game as a junior and 39 per game in his career.
Although Girard III ranked forty third on the list, the company of athletes on the list are incredible. JG3 is mentioned alongisde legendary athletes like Jackie Robinson, Jim Brown, LeBron James, Patrick Mahomes and more.

Following his legendary career at Glens Falls, Girard III decided to continue his career at the college level with the Syracuse basketball player.
Capital Region sports fans are excited to see JG3 appear on the court again for the Orange. Syracuse is scheduled to tip off their 2020-2021 season this Friday against the Bryant Bulldogs. Tip off is set for 3pm inside the Carrier Dome. Girard will not be the only Upstate New York basketball player competing in the season opening matchup. Bulldog players Charles Pride and Luke Sutherland both competed in Central New York. Pride helped Liverpool High School win a state championship in 2018 while Sutherland helped West Genesee High School in 2019. Sutherland was a member of the Siena Saints prior to transferring to Bryant.
