Glens Falls has been in the news for the last few weeks thanks to the revival of the NBA career of Jimmer Fredette. The former GF star signed a 10-day contract that is about to expire with the New York Knicks.

But it's an up-and-comer from Glens Falls that is helping keep Glens Falls on the map: Freshman basketball sensation Joseph Girard III helped lead the Indians to the Class B final, where they fell to Hudson.

Girard was second in Section II in scoring this season, averaging 33.9 points per game, according to the Times Union. His 122 shots from behind-the-arc were also second in the Section. His 239 free-throws made obliterated the rest of Section II, coming in 80 more than the next closest.

He's already got nearly 1,300 points through his freshman season. If he stays healthy, he could become the NYS all-time top scorer which is just shy of 3,000 points.

We brought in Girard today to talk his season, the college offers he already he has, and the comparisons to Jimmer.
