UPDATE 6:51PM

Hello everyone, it's Goz live from Madison Square Garden giving you updates tonight from tonight's UFC 205 card. Tonight's event marks the first time in over two decades that mixed martial arts will have a legal event in the Empire State. UFC 205's main event pits champion versus champion as Eddie Alvarez takes on Conor McGregor. Through out the night we will be giving you updates on tonight's pay per view card. Remember to see more on Twitter @TomGozz

Update: 730pm. Bumped into Tecia Torres. She needed help finding where she was supposed to sit. Sadly Tecia I don't work for MSG.

Fight 1: 29-28 Katlyn Chookagian  29-28 Carmouche 29-28  Liz Carmouche. Liz Carmouche becomes the first fighter ever to win a UFC bout in Madison Square Garden

Update: 7:56pm. Still about 25% of MSG is still empty. Not really shocking since these fights are the prelims to the prelims. My media setup is right above where all the fighters will enter the octagon. This place will be thunderous when McGregor and others step into the cage.

Fight 2: Thiago Alves versus Jim Miller in a catchweight bout. 30-27 30-27. 29-28. A unanimous decision win for Miller. He now has the most wins ever in the 155 pound division. Crowd very happy for Miller's win.

Prelims underway:

Update: 8:06pm

Fight 3: Belal Muhammad versus Vicente Luque in a welterweight bout.

Luque did not miss anything on a punch to Muhammad's face. First time tonight the Garden has really got loud. Luque wins with a first round knockout less than ninety seconds into the fight.

Update:8:34pm

Fight 4: Tim Boetsch versus Rafael Natal in a three round middleweight bout. Tonight's bout has brouht fans from all over the world here. Just spoke to some media members from Poland. A lot of Irish fans dressed up here as well to root on Conor McGregor. It's great to hear the UFC Fight Night Albany promo too! Shout out to Nick Kessler for gettting some notice in MSG!

A vicious first round by Tim Boetsch over Rafael Natal. What a punch! That's going to be hard to beat for the rest of the night when it comes to knockout of the night.

Update:9:19pm. Finally all the seats in the Garden looked filled. Crowd seems fired up after back to back first round knockouts.

Fight 5: Michael Johnson versus Khabib Nurmangomedov in a 3 round lightweight bout. Nurmangomedov remains undefeated with a third round submission win. Despite the win, the New York City crowd was chanting USA USA rooting for Johnson. Nurmagomedov dominated the fight and looks to be one of the best fighters in the world for years to come.

Update: 9:56pm. What a fight between these two. Tom's River, New Jersey's own Frankie Edgar had the crowd on his side the whole time. Chants of "Frank-E, Frank-E" were rocking the Garden. I enjoyed everything especially the walk outs songs for both guys too. Ambitions Az a Ridah Tupac (Jeremy Stephens) vs Kick In the Door Notorious B.I.G. (Frankie Edgar)

Fight 6:Jeremy Stephens vs Frankie Edgar in a 3 round featherweight bout. This is the main event of the prelims on Fox Sports. 30-27 30-27 29-28. Frank Edgar wins by unanimous decision. The New York-New Jersey fans loved the home town guy's win.

In the words of Bruce Buffer.... IT'S TIME! Pay Per View fights start next

Update: 10:36pm. A lot of the noise inside the Garden was taken out by this fight. I have watched more than a hand full of Pennington and Tate's career bouts. This was not of either's most entertaining fights. I still have an extra food voucher. I almost considered using it during the fight. Hopefully New York's Chris Weidman gets the crowd back into it next.

Fight 7: Raquel Pennington versus Miesha Tate in a 3 round bantamweight bout.. Interesting to note that Tate was Pennington's coach on a past season of The Ultimate Fighter reality show. Judges' scorecard has the fight 29-28, 30-27 and 30-27. Pennington gets the win over her former coach Miesha Tate. This win marks the most important in Pennington's career.

Update: 11:11pm

Fight 8: Yoel Romero versus Chris Weidman in a three round middleweight bout. A running knee to the face drops Weidman in the third round. Romero wins that fight by knockout and then proceeds to jump out of cage, strut and salute the crowd. A wild finish for sure. The MSG crowd still supporting Chris Weidman in a loss.

Update 12:04 am:That fourth round was really good. I'm sanwiched in the media section between Polish media members and they pre-fight were cheering for Karolina. A lot of good connections especially by Karolina. The crowd never did swing either way for a fighter. First one of three title fights upcoming.

Fight 9: It's the first title fight of the night as Joanna Jedrzejcyzk defends her women's strawweight title in a five round bout against Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Both fighters are from Poland. Interesting to see who the crowd decides to get behind in the bout. This fight goes the distance with the judge's scorecard going:49-46 with Jedrzejcyzk retaining her title. Jedrzejcyzk ran around the ring with the Polish flag on her back.

Update:12:55am. As we close in on 1am on the east coast here the second to last fight of the night has had it sparks. Thompson ended Round 1 with a lot of blood on his face and I didn't believe he would even get to Round 3. The non-Americans fans are still bursting into 'Ole chants through out certain rounds. Rumor has it Dave Chappelle is doing a gret job a few blocks over at 30 Rock hosting Saturday Night Live. The fans here are getting ready to watch Conor McGregor up next.

Fight 10: In a five round welterweight title fight Tyron Woodley defends his championship against Stephen Thompson. The fourth round performance by "Wonder Boy" Thompson is what everyone will be talking about for years to come. Thompson took a punch from Woodley that looked to have ended the fight. I aloud said "Goodnight" after the blow was delivered while others in the media section said "Stop the fight" and "it's over" . Thompson fought back and pushed the bout to five rounds while getting the MSG crowd on his side. The judges scored the bout 47-47, 47-47 and 48-47 for Tyron Woodley. Woodley wins via split decision. CORRECTION: Buffer announced it incorrectly. Woodley retains title via majority draw.

Update 131am: It's time for tonight's main event McGregor vs Alvarez. The entrances were outstanding. Here we go
