Hicks Extension Proves Long Term Value For Both Sides

Aaron Hicks getting a 7 year $70m extension surprised me, but only because the Yankees don’t like to go above 5 years. The Yankees wanted to keep Hicks from hitting the free agent market, and I don’t blame them one bit for that. Hicks is coming off a career year at the plate, and he’s one of the best center fielders in baseball. Too many years on the contract, but can’t ignore how valuable a player he will be for the Yankees through 2025.
