I just have to feel that the Major Leauge promotion is on the horizon for Colorado Rockies prospect and Shaker High School grad Jeff Hoffman. I thought all along Hoffman would be up in June and he keeps making his case:

What's most impressive is the 11 strikeouts and zero walks, which brings his K/BB up to 79:29. Hoffman is 4-4 with a 3.53 ERA but don't let those numbers fool you because the PCL is a notorious hitters league. As the Rockies continue to fade from contention they'll have more reason to give Hoffman a look so I can't see them holding him down for long.

Hoffman was a first-round pick of the Blue Jays in 2014 before being traded from the Jays to Colorado a year ago as part of the massive Troy Tulowitzki and Jose Reyes deal at the all-star break in 2015.

Since Hoffman's picking in 2014, the Capital Region has seen Garrett Whitley (2015/Tampa Bay) and Ian Anderson (2016/Atlanta) be selected in the first round.
