Angels pitchers allowed only two hits, Angels hitters went back-to-back in the sixth inning, and the Angels as a whole beat the Yankees by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday night in Anaheim, Calif.

The Yankees jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning on a home run by Mark Teixeira. It was his 19th of the year. But rookie Andrew Heaney regrouped, allowing just that run and only an additional hit in his 7.0 innings of work. He walked two and struck out seven.

Ivan Nova was the tough-luck loser for the Yanks, as he allowed just two runs in 5.1 innings of work. He scattered eight hits and struck out seven.

Both runs came in the bottom of the sixth when Albert Pujols and Erick Aybar hit back-to-back home runs. For Pujols, it was his 24th of the year.

The two teams meet again today at 7:05 when Nathan Eovaldi pitches for the Yanks.
