The iconic vehicle was spotted all around the Capital Region and we finally tracked it down!

Have you ever seen something and thought you might be going crazy? That's what was going on with me starting last week.

I was on my way home last Wednesday when in front of my face at the intersection of 155 and Washington Ave Ext. I see a giant driving hot dog. Of course it would be nonother than the famous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.

Anyone who knows me knows I love hot dogs. So I had to be sure that I wasn't just having some sort of fever dream. It was traveling the opposite direction as me so I couldn't follow to see where it was heading. I thought that was the end of my journey.

Then magic happened again on Friday. I'm on Fuller Road heading to my gym and there it is again - right in front of my face heading towards SUNY Albany. I knew I wasn't imagining it this time but since I was driving I wasn't able to get a photo or video of this illusive wiener.

It finally happened

As I am heading into the office today I see this gigantic driving hot dog pull into the Dunkin Donuts off Washington Ave Ext. and park. This was my moment to finally get up close and personal with the famous car. So I pulled over and snapped my photo cementing it in the history of the Capital Region.

There she is! Is it not a thing of beauty? A sight to behold?

Why was the Wienermobile here in Albany anyway? I had looked on their website to see if there were any events in the area but there weren't. As it turned out it had been all over the Capital Region last week, and I guess extended its visit to this one. It had been making appearances all over including the new Market 32 locations that just opened up.

I'm glad I was finally able to catch up with it and get an up close look at this icon of the road.

The Capital Region's 10 Best Hot Dogs [RANKED]

It is a food that seems so simple to make, but yet, the best of the best just cannot be recreated. When it comes hot dogs, buns, and the best combinations of toppings, these are the tops in greater Albany.
