Looking for the best local produce in the state of New York? You'll find it at this Altamont farm stand!

Spring is officially here which means all of our favorite ice cream stands and seasonal restaurants are open for the season. It also means our bountiful local farmstands are also coming back to life!

Once you get outside the cityscapes of the tri-cities, our rural Capital Region countryside is full of amazing local farms growing top-quality fresh produce. If you are all about farm-to-table, nothing beats the fruits and vegetables grown right here by our local farmers. There is a rich heritage of family farms in the area, and they not only provide the best produce - but supporting our local farms is the best way to help them thrive!

When LoveFood set out to find the most "...fabulous spots for fresh produce in every state.." their search in New York led them to Gade Farm In Altamont! Here is what LoveFood had to say about Gade Farm:

If you’re looking for garden-fresh produce in upstate New York, Gade Farm’s market stand is the place...the spot offers fruits and vegetables (all grown in the farm's fields and greenhouses), plus local meat, eggs, and dairy products. Got a sweet tooth? The homemade apple cider donuts and fudge are must-tries.

Gade Farm offers great local produce, pies and baked goods (Including cider donuts!), and they have a garden center. If you're looking to grow your own veggies, Gade Farm is the place to visit!

Gade Farm is located at 2479 Western Avenue in Altamont, and is currently open for the season!

See Pics of the Adorable Baby Animals at Indian Ladder Farms in Altamont

We couldn't have asked for a better Sunday to hang out at the baby barn at Indian Ladder Farms in Altamont. Full disclosure, I was tempted to sneak home a baby lamb. Thankfully, I resisted the urge, but man these goats, piglets, lambs, and calves were too dang cute!

The sun was shining on a cool April day, the perfect backdrop for family fun on the farm as Brian and Chrissy hosted the annual event announcing the new names of the super-cute babies added to the barn.

Guests were invited to submit their best suggestions, and 8 babies got new names.

See pics of the sweet, furry animals (with their exciting new names) as well as a bunch of other pics taken throughout the fun day we had at Indian Ladder Farms in Altamont.
