The San Antonio Spurs announced Wednesday that they have signed Glens Falls native and free agent guard Jimmer Fredette. He spent last season with the New Orleans Pelicans. Terms of the deal have not been released.

After being selected No. 10 overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2011 draft, Fredette has not lived up to his 28.9 ppg at BYU. He's bounced around from the Chicago Bulls, and the Pelicans in the last two seasons. His defense has always been questioned, and when he entered the NBA it was put on full display. Since then he hasn't been given a real chance at playing time.

This may be the perfect spot for the 26-year-old. The Spurs love to scheme the NBA and find the hidden gems, they are always on the hunt for good shooters, that somehow always come up clutch in the playoffs.

If this stop doesn't work out for Fredette it could be his last ride in the NBA.
