It's no secret to us here in the Capital Region that Siena Saints Men's Basketball coach is a world class personality. Any time he's on with us it's must listen to radio and you know he's had his share of features on SporsCenter. Well now Patsos is joining the Tournament coverage team.

Patsos' role was revealed in a press release from Siena College:

"Patsos to Join NCAA Tournament TV Coverage

Siena Head Coach to Serve as Guest Studio Analyst Saturday and Sunday

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Siena Basketball Head Coach Jimmy Patsos has been selected to serve as a guest studio analyst for Turner Sports and CBS Sports’ Saturday and Sunday coverage of the NCAA Tournament. Patsos will join the Atlanta studio team of host Casey Stern and analysts Brendan Haywood and Seth Davis for the networks’ coverage which airs on TBS, CBS, TNT, truTV and via NCAA March Madness Live.

Patsos will be live in the Atlanta studio throughout the weekend to break down Saturday and Sunday’s Second Round games. Patsos will join the Atlanta studio team in providing pregame, halftime and postgame coverage as well as in-game updates.

TBS is available in the Capital Region to Time Warner Cable customers on channels 5 and 104 (channel 247 on DirecTV), CBS airs on channels 6 and 1209 (390 on DirecTV), TNT is channels 27 and 103 (245 on DirecTV) and truTV is available on channels 71 and 112 (246 on DirecTV).

Patsos just completed his fourth season at Siena, which he led to the program's first MAAC Championship Game appearance in seven years. Patsos has piloted the Saints to a pair of 20-win seasons and College Basketball Invitational appearances, culminating in a CBI Championship in 2014. He has recorded 214 wins in 13 seasons as a Division I head coach, including 145 in nine years at Loyola (MD) which he guided to a MAAC Championship in 2012. Patsos was an assistant coach on Maryland's 2002 National Championship team, serving under Hall of Famer Gary Williams."

This is great news and just one more reason to watch. Jimmy Patsos is a wealth of basketball and pop culture knowledge and I think the value he adds to this Tournament will be obvious and immediate.
