So what now? Times Union's Mark Singlais is reporting the Saints will do what fellow MAAC schools Quinnapiac and Marist have done before and use a Search Firm to find their next head coach.
This is why I love Siena Saints head coach Jimmy Patsos. Some coaches have a down year and they tuck their tail between their legs and beg for mercy, not Patsos. Jimmy goes nationwide recruiting and letting the world know he and the Saints will be back!
The 10th seeded Siena Saints looked outmatched last night in their 67-58 loss to the 7th seed Quinnipiac Bobcats. It seemed like the Saints had more fouls than points in the first five minutes of the game and never quite got it together in their first round loss. So of course as usual sports fans begin to over react. I'm here to say take a deep breath and let's see what head coach Jimmy Patsos can do with this team now that their not one of the most inexperienced teams in all of college hoops.
The MAAC Tournament tips off this Thursday at the Times Union Center and it's not a big surprise that a tough season will continue for Head Coach Jimmy Patsos and his Siena Saints Men's team. The Siants started one of the youngest teams in all of college hoops this season and the growing pains were evident. The Saints limped across the finish line with a 8 - 23 overall 4 - 14 in the MAAC record.
The Siena Saints have had a bit of a tough road this season. They're one of the youngest teams in all of college basketball and they lost Nico Clareth but you'll never hear them complain. As a matter of fact they just beat Iona and and Coach Jimmy Patsos just did a great post game interview.
