St. John's pulled off another upset.  This time they beat No. 4 Pittsburgh on Saturday 60-59.  There is one thing that has been a common theme for the Johnnies this year..

The Johnnies are giant-killers at Madison Square Garden.  St. John's has taken down No. 13 Georgetown, No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 3 Duke and No. 10 Connecticut, and now No. 4 Pittsburgh.  All of these big upsets have taken place at the Garden.

Plus, they've crushed some of these teams.  St. John's rolled Duke by 15 points, waxed Notre Dame by 18 points, and blasted UCONN by 17 points.  That's impressive for any team, especially a team that is looking for its first NCAA Tournament bid since 2002.

St. John's was only 17-16 last year, while going 6-12 in the Big East.  New head coach Steve Lavin has done a very impressive job this season.  St. John's is now 17-9 overall, and 9-5 in the Big East.

Dwight Hardy scored the game-winning basket by hitting an underhanded flip with only 1.2 seconds left against Pitt.  That basket moves St. John's into the likely position of being ranked when the new polls come out, and a step closer to the NCAA Tournament.
