The Mets will get a welcomed addition back on the field tonight.  All star shortstop Jose Reyes is set to return just in time for a series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The New York Mets have been missing shortstop Jose Reyes in their lineup.  He is the life of that team, and when he isn't their they struggle.  Not as bad as it could be with them being 6-6 without Reyes, but when Reyes is there the Mets roll.

They won't be without him anymore.  Yesterday Reyes played in a minor league game with Mets affiliate the Brooklyn Cyclones.  He went 1-3 and told Manager Terry Collins that he was ready to return to the big leagues.  The Mets will welcome him back with open arms.  Collins did say that he would be monitoring Reyes closely though, keeping an eye on the injured  hamstring.

The Mets are also getting back outfielder Carlos Beltran who has been out for the last 3 games with what was a flu.  These guys come back just at the nick of time too as the Mets are going to be playing 15 straight games until a day off on August 4th.
