I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to pole vaulting, but I do know this; you're not supposed to end up on the track.  You're supposed to end up on the pad.

Granted, we're not breaking down the nuances of pole vaulting on 104.5 The Team, ESPN Radio all of the time.  I'm not breaking down the results of Olympic pole vaulting on "The Noe Show" like it's Super Bowl XLVI between the Giants and Patriots or anything.  However, I do know that you're not supposed to actually land on the track.

Great Britain's Kate Dennison pole vaulted the wrong way during the 2012 Olympic Games in London on Saturday.  I guess she ended up doing her pole vaulting impression of the famous Jim Marshall wrong way play.  Dennison was not one of the 12 finalists in women's pole vaulting.  At least she'll have a halfway cool story to tell her grandkids when she's old and gray.

Brian Noe is the Brand Manager at 104.5 The Team, ESPN Radio in Albany, NY.  Brian also hosts “The Noe Show” weekdays from 1-3 pm ET on WTMM.
