This afternoon the New York Knicks have officially waived native New Yorker, Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) and back up point guard Beno Udrih.

World Peace was averaging 4.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 13.4 minutes in 29 games. He never really got a chance with the Knicks between lingering injuries and just being very limited on the offensive side of the ball at this point in his career.

Beno Udrih the journeyman veteran comes at no surprise after he asked to be traded a month ago to the Knicks front office. After seeing a lack of playing time when Raymond Felton returned from injury.

MWP had only praises for the organization as he tweeted out his departure.
