Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh didn’t exactly share a warm embrace on Sunday.

There is definitely no love lost between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens.  The two AFC North rivals have battled for years in a gritty, nasty, animalistic way.  Steeler-Raven games are always hard-hitting grudge matches.

Head coaches Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh followed suite with their cold postgame handshake.  Harbaugh said “congratulations” to Mike Tomlin following the Steelers’ 23-20 win against the Ravens on Sunday.  Tomlin gave Harbaugh a disinterested, drive-by handshake.  Harbaugh didn’t like it.

John Harbaugh pulled Tomlin closer while still shaking his hand and said, “Hey, hey, hey.  Congratulations.”  Tomlin said, “Thank you.  Good job.”  Tomlin gave a quick reply in a “kiss my butt, Johnny” tone and quickly turned away.

It was an odd scene that Harbaugh clearly took offense to.  I’m not sure what ticked Tomlin off, but he definitely made it clear that something rubbed him wrong about Harbaugh, the Ravens, the game, or something.  I love it.  It just adds another small layer to one of the best rivalries in sports.
