Even though it's going to be about eight degrees this weekend, it's time to start thinking about baseball season!

Several Capital Region baseball players will be heading out to major and minor league camps this spring and we will be talking to as many of them as we can.

Today: We spoke with Shen grad (2006) Murphy Smith. Smith starred at Binghamton before being drafted by the Oakland A's - and now he's with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Smith will head to Dunedin, Fla., for Jays camp on March 5th. He has spent seven seasons in the minors already so we asked him, "Do you still love the grind?"

Furthermore, we asked Smith what he is still working on and how his game has continued to develop throughout his time in pro ball.

With the Jays organization last year, Smith got a chance to play with Shaker grad Jeff Hoffman. We asked him about Hoffman's ceiling and what it was like playing with another Capital Region native.
