NYS All-State Baseball Teams Released

It was a great year for Section II on the diamond in 2015, and on Tuesday, Section II players were recognized as part of the New York State All-State teams.

Class AA

It was a foregone conclusion that Niskayuna standout Garrett Whitley would earn first team honors. That's what a first-round MLB Draft selection gets you. He was taken No. 13 by the Rays.

On the second team was Shen star Ian Anderson, who has already committed to Vanderbilt, but could be a high draft pick next year. Shen put two more players on the all-state teams in pitcher Bryan Warzek (New Orleans/4th team) and Connor Douglas (8th team).

After capturing the Class AA sectional title, Saratoga star Danny Hobbs took 3rd team honors while teammate Jake Fauler made the fifth team. Jordan Bernacet of Schenctady was on the 6th team, Justin Germain of LaSalle was named to the 7th team and Matt Pierce of Guilderland was named to the 8th team.
