It didn't take long after signing for La Salle High School graduate Zach Remillard to start doing damage in professional baseball. Last week Remillard, who just won the College World Series title with Coastal Carolina, had his first pro hit. And last night:

It's another milestone for Remillard, who's had himself quite a last month. He's joined us twice in the last month, been drafted, won a College World Series title, signed with the South-Siders, and gotten his first pro hit and home run.

Remillard is playing Arizona, presumably to get his feet wet. You have to imagine that once he gets back into the swing of things again and playing regularly that he will accelerate to a higher level of minor league ball.

His brother Will is a product of the Chicago Cubs but is out currently out with Tommy John surgery - the second time that he's sustained that injury.
