The 2015 Syracuse football season ended with the Orange missing a bowl game and their head coach Scott Shafer getting fired. While the future success and popularity of new head coach Dino Babers is still to be determined,  the popularity of a departing Syracuse football player has yet to diminish. Syracuse football fans had started the hash tag #Dixon4Heisman to help gain notoriety for their senior punter Riley Dixon. While Dixon became arguably the most beloved player on the roster this season, voters in Central New York took their admiration for Dixon to another level. Dixon, the senior from Blossvale, New York in Oneida County received votes in eight separate categories in the 2015 election  Dixon received votes for

New York State Supreme Court

Onondaga County District Attorney (2 votes)

Onondaga County Comptroller

Onondaga County Clerk

Town of Geddes Supervisor

Town of Geddes Clerk

Town of Geddes Councilor

Town of Geddes Superintendent

All of Riley Dixon's votes came from the 13th district of the Town of Geddes. The 13th district is located in Solvay, NY with voters living east of Cogswell Avenue and north of West Genesse Street. This area includes residents who live on 4th-7th Street, Power Street, Trump Street and Hazard Street.  Either Riley Dixon has a great following in Solvay, NY or one Syracuse Orange fan voted Riley Dixon all over this ballot. I would not be shocked if this one voter has already decided what candidate will be getting his votes in the 2016 election. Now that Dixon's playing career has ended, maybe it's time for a new hash tag? #Dixon4President.
