It is the twelfth oldest road race in America and on the most popular day to gorge oneself, the Troy Turkey Trot has become almost equally a tradition. The 71st running of the Troy Turkey Trot is expected to bring upwards of 8,000 runners from nearly 40 different states to the streets of Uncle Sam's hometown.

The strategy of running the 5K or 10K makes sense; work off the calories before you put them on in a day full of football and food. Troy Turkey Trot event director George Regan has helped grow one of the most popular races for casual and die-hard runners in the Capital Region.
