Saratoga Preview: Countdown is on to Earlier Start Date

The Saratoga racing season is starting earlier than ever this summer and with less than a week until opening day, there are a bunch of unanswered questions about how an extra week, an extra off day each week and an uncertain Travers field will affect the 40-day meet.

Tim Wilkin of the Times Union will get the Saratoga season started a couple of days earlier with a roundtable discussion with some trainers as well as track announcer Larry Collmus. Wilkin will host and moderate the conversation at the Hearst Media Center on Tuesday at 5:30pm.

Chad Brown is the defending training title champion with a record 46 wins last summer and Irad Ortiz, Jr. won the jockey title with 52 victories.
