Maple Hill graduate Jaime Schultz threw 0.2 scoreless innings Tuesday night in the Southern League All-Star Game as the AA Northern All Stars defeated the Southern All-Stars by a score of 9-0.

Schultz, representing the Montgomery (Ala.) Biscuits, started the seventh inning for the Northern side, and he registered a strikeout. He did not allow a hit or a walk.

Schultz is 5-3 this season with a 3.55 ERA. The Rays farmhand is dominating with his velocity and ability to put the ball past hitters. He has 85 strikeouts in 71 innings. That's second in the league.

He continues to develop a devastating breaking ball and a number of different ways to put hitters away. We heard this from Biscuits broadcaster Aaron Vargas on May 28th:

"There’s no question (he has some of the best stuff in the league), it’s hands down…All you have to do is just watch hitters. Hitters will tell you what kind of stuff a pitcher has….Stuff is not going to be the issue with him at all…With that kind of stuff, if it’s 0-2 or 1-2, it’s game over.”
