A tough break today for former Shaker HS star pitcher Tommy Kahnle. After being traded from the Colorado Rockies to the Chicago White Sox this offseason, today he was sent to AAA by Chicago.

Kahnle is armed with a mid-to-high 90s fastball. He has spent parts of two seasons in the big leagues, both with Colorado. He owns a career 2-2 record in 102 innings. He also recorded two saves a season ago in the Mile High City.

He has 102 strikeouts in those 102 career innings. Hopefully he makes it back to the big leagues soon. He joins Jeff Hoffman (Shaker/Rockies), JP Sportman (LaSalle/As), Branden Cogswell (Shen/As), Jaime Schultz (Maple Hill/Rays), Garrett Whitley (Niskayuna/Rays), Matt Gage (Broadalbin-Perth/Giants), and Justin Brantley (Hudson/Indians) as Capital Region ballplayers playing professionally.
