College Gameday show on the road for the biggest game of the week in college football. It could be from the FBS to FCS to Division 2 or 3 level. Despite the match up between the third ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish and thirteenth ranked Syracuse Orange,
College Gameday selected UCF's game against the Cincinnati Bearcats as their spot for the week. Some writers and fans on Twitter were surprised by the decision.

Why did ESPN select UCF over Yankee Stadium? (reminder Notre Dame is the home team for the Yankee Stadium game). It could be because College Gameday has used other "non campus" sites this season. (Texas State Fair, Jacksonville, Florida Army-Navy game) Or the linguistics of setting up a broadcast with fans needed for the atmosphere needed for College Gameday may have been more difficult at Yankee Stadium than UCF's campus No clear reason has been given but I believe it's more about the UCF conversation for a college football playoff bid not going away and the game being aired on ABC which is connected to ESPN.
