Siena Lacrosse Surging in Liam Gleason’s First Season
The Siena men's lacrosse team is heading into a homestretch that will decide its postseason fate. Under first-year head coach Liam Gleason, the Saints are 5-3 and in second place in the MAAC. Only four teams make the conference playoffs, so each of the remaining MAAC games take on added importance.
It starts this weekend at Marist against the rival Red Foxes. Siena is a half game ahead of Marist and a fourth win in the conference will go a long way to securing a playoff berth. Prior to last weekend's loss to Quinnipiac, the Saints were riding a four game winning streak, pushing their win total beyond last year's when they finished 3-9.
The homestretch of the regular season includes three more conference games; two of them on the road. Gleason has a Siena playing with a fast-paced offensive approach that features four players with 20 points or more.
