While we spend a lot of time and energy in March talking about UAlbany and Siena's chances to punch tickets to the NCAA tournament, we already know that one local team is going dancing.

After winning the Liberty League regular season and tournament titles, the Skidmore men's basketball team will open up Division III NCAA Tournament play on Friday night at Tufts University. They'll play against No. 25 Franklin & Marshall.

For the Thoroughbreds, it's their second consecutive trip to the "Dance" and fourth in the last six years. We brought in head coach Joe Burke today to break down Skidmore's success and to talk about the emotion that comes with a berth in the D-III tournament.

Furthermore, we asked Burke about the recruiting challenges when it comes to a school that is costly and so academically inclined. We also spoke to him about what the emotions of a tournament berth are like for a Division III athlete in comparison to a D-1 athlete. Burke previously coached at both Cornell and Navy.
