This might be the most overblown story in sports history.  Steve Bartman was partly to blame for the Cubs collapse in '03, yet he's the only one who has been tortured by "fans".

It's ridiculous how people can turn into complete lunatics when their favorite team loses a big game.  Unfortunately, it's not shocking to see the way Steve Bartman was treated by fans after he interfered with a ball that should have been caught by Cubs left fielder Moises Alou.

Fans act like animals way too often.  Not all fans, but a percentage of fans that is far too high.  Steve Bartman actually received death threats for his role in Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS between the Cubs and Marlins.  Death threats.  Seriously?  At the end of the day it's a game that we're talking about here.  A game isn't life and death.  It's not even life and death threats.  Keep things in perspective, wacko Bartman haters.
