The New York Yankees were the odds on favorite to represent the American League in the World Series this year and even after a hot start a 5 - 15 stretch put that dream in serious jeopardy. The Bronx Bombers have righted the ship and now are focused on locking up a postseason birth and still have an outside chance of keeping the Tampa Bay Rays from clinching their first American League East title since 2010.
The MLB season is like nothing we've ever seen before. A 60 game sprint to the postseason and an attempt to avoid COVID-19 as much as possible while still playing the majority of games in teams home ballparks. Even though it appears the worst of players testing positive for the coronavirus is behind us with about two weeks left in the season the MLB and the MLBPA have reportedly agreed to move all playoff teams into a bubble scenario in an attempt to ensure a smooth postseason.
