With the school year starting to wind down at Siena College the focus will be shifting wholly to preparing for the upcoming MAAC season for the basketball program. Workouts are still restricted but come June the hope is it'll be as close to normal for Head Coach Carmen Maciariello and the men's basketball team. Not only will practice get closer to normal, the coming schedule for the 2021 - 2022 season will look far more normal than last year as well. Coach Carm shared the latest on what we can expect this year.

During Siena Men's Basketball Coach Carmen Maciariello's weekly appearance with Levack and Bahl on 1045 The Team ESPN Radio he updated us on transfer portal news and hinted to more reinforcements heading to Loudonville. The early days of the NCAA Transfer Portal the Siena Saints have dealt with losing some key players but when you talk to Coach Carm he's attacking this new challenge like he does every other one, full steam ahead.

Coach Carm gives an over view of where the Saints are in their offseason program as well as anything he took away from the NCAA Tournament Championship last night.

just a week ago Coach Carmen Maciariello shocked us all when he opened our weekly interview by saying he had contracted COVID-19. Here we are a week later and Coach Carm is back to running three miles a day and "controlling what he can control" as the Saints prepare to get back on the court against Niagara this weekend.

The Siena Saints long-awaited start to the 2020 - 2021 season has been well worth it. The Saints are off to their first 4 - 0 start in 22 years, which means they've marched to a 14 game win streak dating back to last season. The on-court success hasn't gone unnoticed either. Two Saints have been named players of the week, sweeping the MAAC Men's weekly awards.

If you were wondering just what you could expect from the Siena Saints Men's basketball team when they were finally able to take the court you weren't alone. Furthermore, if you were pleasantly surprised by just how strong the Saints have looked so far again you'd be joined by myself and many others. That's not meant to be a knock on the Saints or their coach Carmen Maciariello, that's just acknowledging the journey this team has faced in its attempt to even practice together. The Saints 2-0 start gained high praise from two-time MAAC coach of the year King Rice of Monmouth.

Coach was nice enough to join us on Media and Picture day. So not only did coach have to wrangle all his players and take pictures he had to field questions from the entire Capital Region news force. Coach lays out the teams upcoming schedule including when 5 on 5 practices begin, non conference schedule will be expected and how he's preparing the team to Vote in the upcoming election.

The MAAC Council of Presidents has decided that all Fall Sports conference and non-conference will begin on September 11th, 2020. This will make for a level playing field across the entire MAAC and reportedly would still allow the Siena Saints basketball teams to complete a full season.

The Siena Saints Men's Basketball team has their man. As reported by Big Board Sports and Newschannel 13's Rodger Wyland Carmen Maciariello will no longer be the "Interm" Head Coach as he will have the word Interm removed and is now the man to lead the Saints into the 2019-2020 season.
