The British Open can change in an absolute heartbeat.  The reason is usually because of the weather.  It is awfully difficult to take over a British Open based on a flurry of birdies at the end because of that weather which is always unpredictable, the competition and the quirky nature of the Open track.  Don't tell Phil Mickelson any of this.

Dad loves sports.  Lucky for Dad this Father's Day weekend, there are plenty of sporting events.  Stanley Cup Finals, U.S. Open golf, NBA Finals and a plethora of terrific Major League Baseball games.  What are you most looking forward to watching this weekend...

They call him "Lefty".  A surefire Hall of Famer in the waiting.  A four-time major champion which includes three green jackets at The Masters and a PGA Championship in 2005.  But Phil Mickelson is missing one major.

Tiger Woods is in a major drought but says he's close.  Adam Scott is looking for his second straight.  Will we see a first-time winner?  Phil Mickelson is looking to get his major mojo back.  Merion Golf Club near Philadelphia will be a challenge for all of the top golfers thanks to rock hard, fast greens and the need for shot placement on every swing...

Tiger Woods vs. David Duval never happened.  Tiger Woods vs. Phil Mickelson never happened.  Tiger Woods vs. Ernie Els never happened.  Tiger Woods vs. Sergio Garcia also never happened.  And for what seemed like the 1,000th time at The 2013 Players Championship, we were reminded yet again why Woods vs. Garcia was laughable from the start.

The normally polite and professional Phil Mickelson came out of his shell to rip a MasterCard representative for asking a silly question.

Man, this is as cruel as it gets on the golf course.  Phil Mickelson came within a whisker of shooting a 59, but was denied due to this brutal lip-out putt on the final hole.

Phil Mickelson just gets me so mad at times. Just when I want to say "nice going, Phil" he disappoints again. This seems like it's common and, man, it infuriates me. First of all, his play is erratic. He's had a great career, for sure, but how much better could it be...

This one will be debated for a long time. An epic choke job by team USA at the Ryder Cup, leading by four points headed into the final round the Americans found a way to NOT WIN ONE MATCH on the 17th or 18th hole all day. The four point deficit ties the all time Ryder Cup record, equaling team USA's comeback in 1999...

The Masters took place last weekend, and we got to witness the fall, then rise, then fall of Phil Mickelson during that time.  It's only natural that Lefty would be the subject of this week's photo caption contest, which was won by Facebook fan Jared Butler.

Bubba Watson has famously never taken a golf lesson - something that even the least educated golf fan may have been able to tell.  His swing isn't polished.  He doesn't display the grace that so many of his contemporaries do.  He's unique.  And on Sunday, it took a very unique shot for Bubba Watson to claim his first major. @JoeBianchino
