The premise of this new Nike commercial that “No Cup Is Safe” is a fantastic idea.  There is a bit of a Bird vs. Jordan feel to it.

The Nike Golf team officially welcomed the #1 golfer in the world to its lineup on Monday.  Rory McIroy sits atop the world golf rankings.  Tiger Woods currently is ranked #2 in the world.  Not a bad pair to be featured in a commercial for Nike golf, right?

The two are featured in an ad entitled, “No Cup Is Safe.”  Tiger and Rory are seen during the spot making a number of shots in a variety of “cups.”  My favorite part is the wedding scene where multiple golf balls land in wedding glasses.  Good stuff.  This spot has a bit of the epic 1993 Larry Bird vs. Michael Jordan McDonald’s commercial (below).  Do you see the similarity too?
