Was The Travelers Championship This Weekend Playing Too Easy?
The PGA Tour has gotten a lot more attention recently both good and bad. The LIV Golf merger has drawn a lot of negative publicity but these recent tour events have been highly entertaining. The US Open was awesome in Los Angeles and the Travelers Championship this past weekend was entertaining per usual. There was some criticism after the event however as it might have played "too easy" as several players shot extremely low scores by tour standards. The winner Keegan Bradley shot 23 under par for the entire weekend. It does beg the question if a course like TPC River Highlands plays too easy with how far these guys hit the ball and the technology and material in these clubs.
MJ and I had on Mark Cannizzaro from the New York Post earlier this morning right here on Big Board Sports. Mark used to be the beat reporter for the New York Jets and now is a golf columnist for The Post. Rory McIlroy was highly critical of the course overall and told Mark some things after the tournament ended Sunday evening which you can read in his column. Below is our full interview with Mark which covers golf and of course a little Jets.
The galleries did look awesome this weekend and it is always a popular event even our own Eric Hannmann was present for Sunday's round. One thing is for sure, I love the golf and the PGA Tour recently and I hope these exciting events continue here in the near future.
