Less than 24 hours after the numbing last second 2-2 draw to Portugal one thing is official. The World Cup is the biggest sporting event going on in the country.

The ratings for U.S vs. Ghana (6.3) game was higher than game 5 of the NBA Finals. A finals that included some of the biggest names in the world such as LeBron James and Tim Duncan.

Sunday afternoon's thriller starring Jermaine Jones, and Cristiano Ronaldo once again proved that this team has many casual fans hooked on the edge of their seats. The match was seen by the largest American audience for a soccer match on ESPN, pulling in a 9.1 rating,  tied for the third-highest number in World Cup history.

The U.S play Germany for the final game of the group stage on Thursday. If the team gets a draw or a win they will automatically advance to the knockout round of 16. You can listen to the game live right here on 104.5 The Team
