UAlbany Women To Play UConn in NCAA Tournament First Round
The UAlbany Great Danes women's basketball has won six straight conference titles and has played in the NCAA tournament six straight seasons. This year, the Great Danes will face their toughest test yet as they drew the number one ranked UConn Huskies in the opening round. The Huskies, led by hall of fame Coach Geno Auriemma, are currently riding an NCAA record one hundred seven game winning streak. The Huskies have won six of the past eight national championships including the last four UAlbany did win an NCAA tournament game last season as they defeated the Florida Gators. UAlbany was defeated in the round of thirty two by the eventual national runner up Syracuse. Tipoff for the game is set for 11am in Storrs, Connecticut. Don't forget Saturday's game will be broadcasted live on 1045 The Team. Pregame coverage is set for 1030am with Big Board Sports' Rodger Wyland on the call.
