UAlbany Women’s Basketball Starts Off Conference Play With a Win
The UAlbany women's basketball team begin 2020 with a 58-49 win in their first America East conference game against Vermont. Junior Kyara Frames chipped in with 9 points and a career high 9 assist while redshirt senior Amanda Kantzy led with 15 points and added 9 rebounds
"It feels really good to get a win at home, in front of our home court, and feel like it was a great team win. Everybody contributed, [Kyara and Amanda] showed so much toughness. Day in and day out I'm asking them to do a lot. Day in and day out I'm asking Amanda Kantzy to get offensive rebounds, to get fifty-fifty balls, and she really sets the tone with a lot of things that don't show up on the stat sheet. Kyara did a great job of just letting the game come to her tonight. We shared the ball, we had 17 assists on 23 field goals and that's tremendous, and that just shows unselfish basketball, and that's what I want this team to be about."
The Great Danes will host Binghamton on Sunday at 2pm.
