Giants’ Head Coaching Search Hits Full Swing This Weekend
With a string of interviews set to begin on Thursday for the Giants, Newsday's Tom Rock joined Big Board Sports to discuss the head coaching search.
The Giants have a long list of candidates whom they'll interview in the next couple of weeks. It starts Thursday with Cowboys secondary coach and passing game coordinator Kris Richard who perhaps is best-known for being one of the architects of the Seahawks "Legion of Boom" nearly a handful of years ago.
Former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy will be the next man through the doors of the Giants' facility at the Meadowlands on Friday and then some patience will need to be exhibited as New York waits for coaches currently in playoffs to become available i.e. Ravens defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bienemy and maybe the most-coveted coordinator in the sport, Patriots offensive play-caller Josh McDaniels.
The name at the top of the Giants' wish list is reportedly Baylor's Matt Rhule who's interview with Big Blue will either get squeezed in before a beach vacation or will be conducted afterwards.
